Policy Analysis for Informed Decision Making
CRECE recognizes that the analysis of policies and programs is a key to strengthen institutional capacities to manage objectives and promote social development. For this reason, CRECE has supported public and private entities with the identification of their policy alternatives and institutional arrangements to guide their decision making, as well as in the evaluation of programs and projects aimed at improving the conditions of specific population groups. CRECE distinguishes itself through its long experience and knowledge on local, regional and national level, its multidisciplinary approach and the offer of a scientifically sound analysis of social phenomena. The products and services of this research area include diagnostics and socioeconomic characterisations; program and project baselines; monitoring and evaluation of social, economic, environmental and cultural interventions; institutional design and evaluation; evaluations of processes, results or impacts; systematisation and dissemination of experiences; and support to institutions in the construction and development of change theories. The most recurrent themes in the line of social and institutional development include social protection; quality of life and poverty; subjective well-being; gender and youth; food and nutrition security; institutional development; social organization; and citizen participation.
