Jaime Vallecilla G.


Jaime is an economist from the Universidad del Valle. Subseqently, he specialized in “Topics in Long-Run Economics” from the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, from the University of Guelph (Ontario-Canada). He has extensive experience in matters related to regional and urban economic growth, the input-output model, the coffee economy and economic measurement within the framework of the national accounts system.

He has worked as a researcher from the Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadistica (DANE), as a research professor from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and researcher of CEGA. Furthermore, he has worked as a researcher from the Universidad Autonoma de Manizales (UAM) and at CRECE. He has been editor of the Regional Economic Observatory (OER) sponsored by CRECE and the UAM. He was the editor of the magazine RegionEs of CRECE, INER of the Universidad de Antioquia and the Observatory of the Colombian Caribbean (Cartagena). He has also been a consultant for Colombia at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) in Brasilia, and at ECLAC headquarters in Santiago.
